Prayer + Fasting 2024: A New Thing

Good evening, friends. We are so expectant for God to move this week and are excited you’re joining us. He is doing a NEW THING! We believe this will be a monumental moment in your faith and walk with Christ. We’re taking this time to set first things first, and realign ourselves—body, mind, and spirit—with the Word of God.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33

This is where we begin— setting things aside in order to seek Him with all we’ve got. We’re making space for Holy Spirit to speak and move, and also to increase our hunger for Him. As you are fasting this week, we want to help set you up for success! Here are some key reminders to help you make the most of this time: have a plan, know the purpose, and be fully present.

Tonight, set the rhythm of your week by noting: the type of fast you feel God leading you to do, any physical or social activities you might need to restrict, and the specific and personal purpose of this fast for your life and walk with Jesus. Ask yourself: “why am I doing this?”.

Whether this is your first fast or you’ve done it before, we know God wants to do a new thing in you, and in our church. Let’s not look back but begin anew with the Holy Spirit’s leading into this year.

We will send an email tomorrow by 7am (each day will also be posted on our website). Also, Tuesday—Friday the church auditorium will be open from 7am-7pm. Please set time aside this week to come and just be in His presence. Here, you can take communion, put prayers on the cross, pray, and worship. This is a great opportunity to be in the church in a different setting than you might be used to, and it’s purposeful.

At the end of the week, we’ll meet together Friday night, January 19 at 7pm for Worship Night.

We’re listening to this tonight as we prepare for the week: Give Me Jesus  (click to listen).

Expect the Lord to speak to you. Expect Him to move. As you stir up a deeper hunger for God, expect a new, fresh revelation of His glory.

We love you!
