Our Pastors
Josh + Tori Shelton

Born and raised in St. Louis, our hearts have always been deeply connected to this city—and to this church. After many years of serving in a variety of roles, we now have the great honor of leading LifeChurch as Senior Pastors.

We've been married since 2000 and are raising four amazing children. Our greatest ministry is to our marriage and our family—and what an adventure it is! We’re not perfect, and we don’t pretend to be. In fact, we believe in showing the beautiful mess of real life, because family is both challenging and deeply worth it. We believe the same is true of the Church: it should be a place where people are welcomed and embraced, just as they are.

We are passionate about Jesus and His relentless love. Our hearts beat for people—to see healing, restoration, and growth take place through authentic relationship with Him. At LifeChurch, Jesus is at the center of everything.

Our hope is that when you walk through our doors, you encounter Him—and that you feel truly seen, known, and loved. It’s our prayer that together, we can be an echo of hope to the world around us.

How it all began...

LifeChurch was founded in 1980 when God gave a young man a powerful vision to reach this city with the love of Christ. Under the faithful leadership of Pastors Rick and Donna, that vision was pursued wholeheartedly for 35 years. Today, in a new season of ministry, Pastors Rick and Donna travel across the nation and around the world, encouraging and equipping pastors and leaders to fulfill their God-given callings.

Our Beliefs

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and life-giving Word of God—our ultimate authority and guide in all matters of faith and life.
  • We believe in one eternal, almighty, and perfect God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, is the only One who can reconcile us to the Father. He lived a sinless life, died in our place on the cross, and rose from the dead—defeating sin and death and offering us the gift of salvation.
  • We believe that salvation comes through repentance, faith in Jesus Christ, and surrendering to Him as Lord of our lives.
  • We believe that to live the holy and purposeful lives God intends for us, we must follow Christ in water baptism and be empowered by the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe God desires to restore and heal every part of our lives—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—so we can live in wholeness and serve others with compassion and strength.
  • We believe in the power and purpose of the Church: a community of believers united in worship, prayer, and fellowship.
  • We believe in the resurrection of the dead: eternal life for the saved, and eternal separation from God for the lost.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ will return as He promised, to reign in glory and fulfill God’s redemptive plan.
