January 22nd, 2025
“Don’t be afraid. Dear Zion, don’t despair. Your GOD is present among you, a strong Warrior there to save you. Happy to have you back, he’ll calm you with his love and delight you with his songs. The accumulated sorrows of your exile will dissipate. I, your God, will get rid of them for you. You’ve carried those burdens long enough.” Zephaniah 3:16-20 MSG
We spent the better portion of last year diving into deep depths of this word: resilience. It was quickly brought to our attention that we haven’t been the only ones to ever wonder: what does it take to stay vibrant in our walk with the Lord when it feels like you’re surrounded by challenging circumstances and things that don’t always make sense? How do we fully live a life of abundance when we feel depleted, disappointed, or maxed out?
While we want you to read the rest of this email, here’s a spoiler: it’s supernatural.
We were created for union with Christ. Jesus is our source of life— the only One who can sustain us. No matter what our story looks like, we are all in desperate need of God’s abundant LIFE in us. We cannot sustain life alone, even a mundane one. Life is a miracle! In Psalm 36:9 it talks about God being the fountain of life.
The picture in Ezekiel (47) and Revelation (22) about the kingdom of God is a promise we should take seriously. One of the scriptures that has brought so much hope, healing, and restoration to us has been this: “Where the river flows everything will live.” Ezekiel 47:9 NIV
So, while we aren’t sitting across from you today hearing your unique story, we can say without doubt that God has plans of abundance, healing, and restoration for you. No matter what circumstances say or what has been spoken over you— by someone or yourself, we are praying today is the day you hear the sound of that mighty rushing flow of the river of life!
“No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married.” Isaiah 62:4 NIV
As we step into the River of Life— which is Jesus—these are some of the things we can know for sure:
-You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, nor shall your land anymore be termed Desolate (NKJV)
-No more will anyone call you Rejected, and your country will no more be called Ruined. (MSG)
“Because I love Zion,
I will not keep still.
Because my heart yearns for Jerusalem,
I cannot remain silent.
I will not stop praying for her
until her righteousness shines like the dawn,
and her salvation blazes like a burning torch.
The nations will see your righteousness.
World leaders will be blinded by your glory.
And you will be given a new name
by the Lord’s own mouth.
The Lord will hold you in his hand for all to see—
a splendid crown in the hand of God.
Never again will you be called “The Forsaken City”
or “The Desolate Land.”
Your new name will be “The City of God’s Delight”
and “The Bride of God,”
for the Lord delights in you
and will claim you as his bride.”
Isaiah 62:1-2 NLT
There is no dimness, dullness, or burnout in this scripture! Only the promise of God holding us, claiming, and renaming us! There’s a lot in the scripture about God changing names. Abram to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah, Jacob to Israel, Simon to Peter…
Something happens when we accept His name over us— it changes us. What would He speak over you today? We encourage you to write some of those things down. It might also be helpful to write down some of the old things you have been answering to and put them on the cross. We are no longer desolate: “people in a state of bleak and dismal emptiness" in any area of our lives. Whatever the River of Life touches LIVES! And it’s in abundance!
Today, as we listen for God to speak truth over us, we encourage you to let it extend to new places. Jesus gave us authority to claim back our minds, bodies, and even our families. When you think of that River flowing, where do you draw those boundary lines?
Our desire is to live a vibrant life that is also life-giving. We’ve carried the burdens long enough. And there is no self-help course or program that will ever be enough to take the place of stepping into the River. You will be refreshed, renewed, and resilient for a wonderful walk of longevity with Jesus. He loves you, “He’ll calm you with His love and delight you with his songs”, and He gave you the authority to walk in abundance because of who He is.
“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” Ephesians 3:14-16 NIV
We are praying for you. We are believing for God to move in miraculous ways in your life—let there no longer be any desolation in any part of our souls or our land!
How can this be? Because of the Mighty Name of Jesus! We must proclaim these things over our lives! No matter what you have answered to in the past— His blood makes a covenant with you that you are HIS!
