Hello! We pray you are feeling the same stirring as we are…God is moving among us! He is awakening His church to new revelation and HOPE!
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. 2 Peter 1:3-4 (NLT)
As the scripture above states, we have been given everything needed to live a godly life, with the promise of eternity. In Psalm 103:3-5, David praises the Lord for all He has done: He forgave all my sins, heals all my diseases, redeems me from death, crowns me with love and tender mercies, and fills my life with good things!
Sometimes, it helps us to better see and understand the Word when we’re given illustrations. This next passage in Malachi is speaking of Judgement Day— and what it means for both the unbeliever and the believer.
“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. On the day when I act, you will tread upon the wicked as if they were dust under your feet,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. Malachi 4:2-3 NLT
We love that picture! Though our bodies may be weak and weary (especially this week!), it says that we will leap with joy like calves let out to pasture! There are so many things to glean from that…but this commentary is so enlightening:
“Understand the figure. The calf in the stall is shut up, tied up with a halter at night, but when the sun rises the calf goes forth to the pasture; the young bullock is set free. So the child of God may be in bondage. The recollection of past sins and present unbelief may halter him up and keep him in the stall, but when the Lord reveals himself he is set free.” (Spurgeon)
Friends, as the Sun of Righteousness has risen, been revealed, and healed us, we have been set free! There is so much hope for our future!
There’s nothing we could think of better for this Thursday than to praise Him with absolute thanksgiving for all He has already done, as we prepare to see all He is about to do. We’ve been released like those calves in the early morning after a long night of being bound up! Let’s get up and PRAISE HIM!
Let all that I am praise the Lord;
may I never forget the good things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
Psalm 103:3-5 (NLT)
Wonder if you already guessed what song we’re singing this morning? Don’t let your soul get shy about it, let’s show Him our Gratitude! (click to play)
We pray you’ll be so encouraged today and by tomorrow night at Worship Night, we’ll all be running around like those little calves, roaring like lions, and renewed like the eagles! :-)
WE LOVE YOU!
