“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re mine.”
He has called you by name. And He promises to care for you—no matter what you’re facing.
When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end— Because I am God, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior.” Isaiah 43:2-4 MSG
There’s something different about someone who knows, really knows, who they are, and where they’re going. There’s a peace that is unexplainable, a joy that isn’t based on circumstances. Being known, called and proven to that you are loved— it completely changes how you live.
It doesn’t change the fact that trials will come— the Word doesn’t say “if”, it says “when” we face trials. But His promise is in what He will do when those moments do come. And our rest and our assurance is in that promise:
“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” Isaiah 43:1-2 NLT
Life can be full of twists and turns and obstacles we didn’t plan or ask for. But it’s also full of purpose and direction and a plan that will require our partnership with our Creator in order to accomplish, for His glory.
When you reflect on God’s vision for your life, maybe it seems too big, too difficult. There may be waters before you, rocks and detours and people you love scattered about. It might feel impossible for you to make sense of a future that is full of hope, and maybe it should…within the means of your own strength. But we have the promise of our Creator, who knows us and has called us by name, who says: I know you, and every part of your personal journey, and I will be with you through it all.
“When you pass through the deep, stormy sea, you can count on me to be there with you. When you pass through raging rivers, You will not drown. When you walk through persecution like fiery flames, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you, for I am your Savior, Yahweh, your mighty God, the Holy One of Israel! I give up Egypt as the price to set you free, Cush and Seba in exchange to bring you back. Since you are cherished and precious in my eyes, and because I love you dearly and want to honor[e] you, I willingly give up nations in exchange for you— a man to save your life. I am with you now, even close to you, so never yield to fear.” Isaiah 43:1-5 TPT
Take this personal. God hasn’t lost sight of you in a world full of people. He hasn’t misplaced His plan for your life, He hasn’t forgotten about what makes you ignite with purpose or what pains your heart in the deepest places. He’s called you, by name. And that doesn’t change from day to day, or year by year. Maybe you feel a little confused about your direction or calling, or even just how to connect to His heart. But here’s a promise: even now, He is with you, and does not waver in His promises to you.
It’s interesting that in the scripture before we are told that God’s promises are “yes & amen”, we read this:
“For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” He always does what He says.” 2 Corinthians 1:19 NLT
Jesus was God’s ultimate “yes” for you. And He was never confused about whether or not you were worth it— He doesn’t waver between yes and no about His love and provision for you. So today, we pray that you know God has called you, by your very specific name, and cares about all things that concern you. He is with you, He is protecting and lifting you up in this very moment. And the plans He has for you, they are full of restoration and hope.
Let’s pray this prayer today and make it personal:
Lord, help me to trust You more. Today, I hear You calling my name. The one You knew before I was even born. I hear You reminding me that You are walking with me, guiding me, protecting me, even when I feel alone. Your path for me is one of restoration and hope, and today I pray for an increase of joy for my journey. Let my life be one that’s lived from a place of identity, marked by a Father who has called me His own. And as I walk in that peace, may I help others to know that same calling. I have nothing to fear. You are speaking today, and I hear You. You are reminding me that Your vision for my life can never be accomplished by my own strength, so God, I lean in fully to You— the One who created me and knows me best. No matter the waves, no matter the flames, I trust You are with me.
We encourage you to read all of Isaiah 43 today and claim His promises over your life. Let’s worship the God who is always walking with us: You Won’t Let Go
We are intentionally building for some big moments of breakthrough as we fast together. We love you and we’re praying for you as this week progresses.
