We are so excited you are joining with us in this week of Prayer & Fasting. You’ll hear it over and over again, but get ready for a time of YES & AMEN in your personal lives, and as a church family!
We believe that we are in a time, like none before, when it is vital that we align our “amen” with His “yes”. There are so many promises God has made to us, His children, and we are going to walk in the fullness of that this year.
Fasting is one of the most powerful spiritual disciplines. It is a way to align our hearts with God’s ways and become hungry for more— “My soul thirsts for God, the living God” (Psalm 42:2). Through fasting and prayer, the Holy Spirit can transform your life.
As we prepare, we encourage you to ask God about how you, specifically, should fast. Jesus implied that all of His followers should fast (Matthew 6:16-18; 9:14-15). Before you fast, decide the following up front:
- The type of fast God wants you to do (such as liquids only, or a restricted diet fast, fasting from social media, or television, setting specific times apart to spend in prayer and worship)
- What specific physical or social activities you will restrict
- How much time each day you will devote to prayer and God’s Word
Regardless of how you feel led to fast this week, we know that the best results are yielded when we’re all in. Be purposeful, be fully present. We are standing together, a unified body, hungry for more and greater than we’ve ever seen or experienced.
As we step into this new year, we are inclining our ears, opening our hearts and expanding our vision— ready to hear God speak as we seek Him! Remember, the most powerful thing that can happen this week is to become aligned with His promises and to partner with His Word. It will change us, renew us, restore us, and revive us.
Look for an email tomorrow at 7 am (each day will also be posted on our website). And then, in culmination of this powerful week, we’ll meet together Friday night at 7 pm for Worship Night. Let’s do this— holding nothing back!
We love you and are believing for big things together!
